Package #20 – Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro

Day 1. Argentina – Buenos Aires
Arrival at Buenos Aires via Sao Paulo. Transfer to your selected hotel. Buenos Aires is known as the “Paris of South America” for its spacious boulevards, European architecture, and avenues with impressive monuments. The Plaza de Mayo (May Square) perhaps the most historically representative place in Argentina. Here you can see the Presidential Palace, The Cabildo, which were the Old Spanish Town Hall and The Cathedral with Jose de San Martin mausoleum. San Martin was the Liberator of Argentina. The National Congress Building, another historical site with its imposing facade of Greek-Roman features, considered one of the most sumptuous parliamentary buildings of the Americas it is a location that you cannot miss.We recommend that you visit the historical Café Tortoni built in 1852, Florida Street, Santa Fe Avenue, the 9 de Julio Blvd, and La Recoleta with their fine restaurants and cafés. Another place to visit is Puerto Madero, were dozens of the finest restaurants are located.

Day 2. Buenos Aires
Breakfast. In the morning we will take you for a half day tour through the most interesting and historical locations of the city. This tour will take you through the world’s famous 9 de Julio Ave. We will have the opportunity to see the Presidential House, (World famous Pink House), the historical Plaza de Mayo, the Cabildo, the Congress, the district of San Telmo, and ending at the Italian/Portuguese district of La Boca, where the famous Caminito street inspired the famous Tango-Caminito.

If this day is a Sunday, we strongly recommend a visit to the famous Feria de San Telmo, (San Telmo Antique Fair) in the early afternoon. The San Telmo Fair is a traditional gathering place of the local’s folks who are looking for antiques, restaurants, café’s; the surrounding architecture, tango street dancing, and a

Bohemian atmosphere complement this exciting fair. The San Telmo fair is only on Sundays. For the evening we recommend a tango show such as: “Sabor a Tango”, “Sr. Tango” or “Red Tango” these are shows performed by the best professionals in an excellent location with a great ambiance. Day 3. Buenos Aires
We Breakfast. Enjoy the optional full day tour Fiesta Gaucha with lunch. The Fiesta Gaucha is the most typical Argentinean fiesta. This event is celebrated in a Hacienda, located outside Buenos Aires. You will see the Argentinean cowboys performing their unique skills in horse riding, traditional games, BBQ cooking and more. The typical Argentinean BBQ lunch will be served. Country music and dance will be also performed.
This tour does not operate daily. We strongly recommend to book in advancealso suggest a tour by the Delta del Tigre (River Plate Delta). A cruise that will take you through the Delta’s mayor tributaries surrounded by thick vegetation and magnificent river views. To get there, you will drive through the most elegant suburban districts such as San Isidro. Most of the mansions in this neighborhood belong to the traditional aristocratic families.
Another suggestion will be taking the Tren de la Costa. This small train will take you around the cost line. The railway has some attractive stations with shops, cinemas, modern bars and restaurants.

Day 4. Buenos Aires – Rio de Janeiro – Brazil
Breakfast. Today you will leave Buenos Aires and flight to Rio de Janeiro at the most convenient time. Arrival at Rio, transfer to the hotel. Your hotel is located in the Copacabana area. Famous for its beaches Capacabana’s Atlantic Ave offers innumerous café’s and restaurants. Visitors to Rio are bewitches by the astonishing beauty of the Guanabara Bay, Rio’s famous landmark statue of Christ the Redeemer perched atop Tijuca National Forest. It has a Botanical Garden of almost 350 acres containing more than 5,000 species of plants. Rio also has a fine artistic, architectural and cultural heritage, but this is first a city dedicated to leisure, sports and music.
The rest of the day is at your leisure, to rest from the trip and to be acquainted with Copacabana.

Day 5. Brazil – Rio de Janeiro – Christ the Redeemer
Breakfast. Half day city tour to El Corcovado (Christ Statue) and beaches, The 704 meter above sea level ride to El Corcovado is on a trolley or by cable car. At the top of the mountain, you will have the opportunity to see the Christ Statue, 90 feet tall from this point you will enjoy a panoramic view of Rio, its beaches, mountains and the Sugar Loaf, all of them resulting in one of the most spectacular urban and natural sceneries in the whole world. We recommend having lunch in one of Rio’s churrasquerias; these are the typical Brazilian steak houses, where you are served innumerous types of beef cuts, salads, and pastas, all you can eat, at an unbelievable price. Evening is at your leisure. One of the major Rio attractions are the myriad nightlife possibilities we encourage you take the optional tour Plataforma 1 Show where you can enjoy an excellent Brazilian show, a true sample of their Carnival spirit.  Day 6. Brazil – Rio de Janeiro

Breakfast. Day at your leisure .You make take in to consideration the Tropical Islands Tour. This all day tour cruises the bay in safe and comfortable sailboats. Tropical fruits are freely served on board, as well as the typical Brazil’s drink, the Caipirinha. The boat stops for those who want to swim in the crystal clean waters of the bay, where it is possible to see the bottom. After this stop, we will head to the Island where a buffet-style lunch will be served with a varied selection of Brazilian dishes mainly seafood and barbecue. The stay on the island takes approximately 3 hours, enough for swimming in the ocean or to play the available sports. In the evening return to your hotel.

Day 7. Brazil – Rio de Janeiro to USA
Breakfast at your hotel, check out (at 12 noon) transfer to Rio de Janeiro Airport in time for your international flight back home.
