Package #17 – Rio de Janeiro

Day 1. Rio de Janeiro
Arrival in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your hotel located in the Copacabana area. Famous for its beaches, Copacabana’s Atlantica Ave offers innumerous café’s and restaurants. The astonishing beauty of the Guanabara Bay bewitches visitors into Rio. Rio’s famous landmark statue of Christ the Redeemer perched atop Tijuca National Forest. It has a Botanical Garden of almost 350 acres containing over 5,000 plant species and interensting museums, such as the Indian Museum, the National Historical Museum and more.
Day at you leisure.

Day 2. Rio de Janeiro Christ of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf
Breakfast. Full day tour to El Corcovado (Christ Statue)and to the Sugar Loaf (lunch is included). The 704-meter above sea level ride to El Corcovado is on a trolley or by cable car. At the top of the mountain, you will have the opportunity to see the 90 feet tall Christ statue. From this point, you will enjoy a panoramic view of Rio, the beaches, mountains and the Sugar Loaf, all of them resulting in one of the most spectacular urban and natural sceneries in the whole world. Later lunch in a typical Churrasqueria and transfer to the Sugar Loaf granite, second most visit natural monument of Rio. This monolith is accessible by a two stages cable car. From here, you will appreciate a spectacular vista of the Guanabara Bay and the majestic city of Rio de Janeiro. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 3. Rio de Janeiro – Tropical Island
Petropolis, Brazil’s Imperial city, located near to Rio de Janeiro. It´s a popular health and summer resort founded in 1845 by German immigrants. It is named after Pedro II, the emperor of Brazil from 1831 to 1889, who adopt it as his favorite summer residence. The population goes around 300,000 people. Petrópolis is one of Rio de Janeiro’s premier mountain resorts. The lovely tree-lined streets, the palaces, mansions, and museums can be comfortably explored on foot. In addition to the royal family, the Baron of Mauá, the Baron of Rio Negro, and a number of industrialists, coffee moguls, and politicians built their summer residences here, turning Petrópolis into the capital of Brazil during the hot summer months. Even after the Brazil´s independency in 1889, Petrópolis maintained its prestige. In 1904 the former Baron´s residence became the official summer residence for the president of the Republic. This tour operates only Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on regular share in basis services. Private services are available other days.

Day 4. Rio de Janeiro – Buzios – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast. Morning departure on a bus, crossing the bridge that connects Rio de Janeiro and Niterói, a 14 km long impressive work. Continuing on the Amaral Peixoto Road, riding along 180 km until reaching BUZIOS, passing by the coastal cities of Iguaba / Araruama and the salt mills of São Pedro da Aldeia. The village enjoys yearly average temperatures of 25°C, with approximately 8 km long and 2 km wide. It keeps its Nature virgin, regardless to the increasing human presence and visitors cannot keep from falling in love with Buzios whenever they are looking for peaceful and romantic calmness, or those who prefer dynamic vacations with a wide variety of activities. In the península, there are 23 beaches with different characteristics: with or without waves, shallow or deep waters, crowded or solitary, etc. In Buzios, there will be a short visit to this astonishing beach town. On board of a comfortable schooner, the tourists go to the islands and beaches of the region. Buffet lunch is included. Arrival at your hotel at early night. This tour operates only on Mondays and Fridays, on regular share in basis services. Private service is available on different days.

Day 5. Rio de Janeiro

Breakfast. Day at your leisure.We recommend our ECOLOGICAL TOUR TIJUCA FOREST BY JEEP HALF DAY TOUR “THE WORLD’S BIGGEST URBAN FOREST” A tour in a convertible 4×4 jeeps- access to the Tijuca Forest showing the contrast between the stone jungle and the Tijuca Forest, at the city’s heart. A 15 minute stop at the Monkeys Cascade where it is possible to see some Macumba works. Stop at the Chinese view. We will visit the Emperor’s Table, stop at the Taunay Cascade for a quick meal (optional) and at the Mayrink Chapel. A one hour walking by an easy access trail, where the the botanical aspects are shown. We will continue our tour though the forest where we can observe its flora and fauna. This optional tour is not included in the price.

Day 6. Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast. Day at your leisure for last minute shopping.Evening at your leisure. We recommend the Plataforma 1 Nightclub Show with dinner where you can enjoy an excellent Brazilian show, a true sample of their Carnival spirit. This optional tour is not included in the price.

Day 7. Rio de Janeiro / USA

Breakfast and departure transfer to International Galeao Airport for your flight to your home town.
